Toyota Landcruiser

An absolute classic and overall a favourite truck of ours. The venerable Toyota Landcruiser - the workhorse and worldwide legend. We were stoked to design and complete the custom fit out on this 60 Series Wagon.

The brief for this fit out included things like "secure and adequate storage for camera and film gear, room for surfboards and I need a bed...". Easy.

We created a couple of big, deep sliding drawers on heavy duty runner hardware within a main carcass and, of course, this was all made from our black 16mm PVC Constructa board. 

The false floor 'topper' is made from 18mm Transtek 220 but with some trick work we made it slide forward once the rear seats are folded down to create a large flat surface to carry surfboards and at the end of a long day the owner can roll out his camping mattress and have a decent nights sleep.

Finishing details include our 'Cargo Bar' to either side of the topper, perfect for strapping down your gear while on the road or trail. The drawer faces use no handle hardware for a clean look. The bottom edge is simply bevelled with the drawer runner lock release tab mounted low for an easy and smooth open/close action. To either side of the drawer face is a removable panel to access additional storage space. The Cargo Bar and aluminium finishing trim is powder-coated black.
